The EVAN Foundation is grateful for the support of the following partners

2014 Year in Review

Happy Holidays from The EVAN Foundation! As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to thank you for your support and friendship. 2014 was a year of great progress for the Foundation and our continued fight against neuroblastoma. We are proud to share the following highlights.

We wish you health and happiness in the New Year.

With Hope,

Wendy and Gavin Lindberg

Record Breaking Year for Neuroblastoma Research

The Foundation proudly funded four highly innovative neuroblastoma research grants in 2014 totaling $130,000. A record amount for the organization! Grantees were leading neuroblastoma researchers at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Seattle Children's Hospital, the Children's Oncology Group, and Children's Hospital of Los Angeles / New Approaches to Neuroblastoma Therapy.

EVAN Foundation Helps Launch New Clinical Trial

A promising new clinical trial for neuroblastoma patients was launched in May thanks to support provided by the EVAN Foundation in 2013. The trial utilizes the anti-neuroblastoma drug Fenretinide and is open to patients from across the country through a leading pediatric cancer treatment consortium in Texas. Lead investigator Dr. Barry Maurer said "We are extremely grateful to The EVAN Foundation for helping make this new therapeutic option available to children with relapsed and refractory neuroblastoma. This trial is an important step forward for patients and it is an example of the critical role non-profit organizations like The EVAN Foundation play in advancing neuroblastoma research in the face of shrinking federal government support."

Treats & Treasures Carts Nominated for National Volunteer Award

We are approaching our third year of weekly visits to the oncology floor of Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC with the EVAN Foundation Treats and Treasurers Carts. Every Wednesday, patients and family members select items at no charge from two carts stocked with toys, games, candy, chocolate, stuffed animals, books, puzzles, etc. To date, we have made over 3,000 visits to young children enduring long and difficult stays in the hospital. We are proud to announce that the Treats and Treasurers Carts program was recently nominated for the American Hospital Association's 2015 Hospital Award for Volunteer Excellence.
